Mean birds...

I have a confession. Birds scare me. Yes I know. Laugh all you want, but if you've ever been in Australia during spring, i.e. magpie season, you know how vicious they can be. Anyway, I had a close encounter with the beast this morning. I set out on my run at 5am - yes, a tad late today, and I swear one of them was following me! I think it might be the dark hair which makes them think of nesting. However, I would like to think of my hair as nice and lovely rather than it being a home for birds! What does this have to do with running you ask? Well, if a bird follows you, you run :-)
A-n-y-w-a-y, I ran 8 miles this morning with the last mile at tempo. It has been very very humid in the mornings lately.
I need to get my butt into a gym for some speed work on a treadmill. I, however, *hate* (despise) gyms and cannot run for more than a mile on a machine. Also the idea of staring at myself for 18 miles, as tempting as it can be, is not my idea of a relaxing run.
I have had an awesome Sunday filled with four hours of continuous eating - *bliss*. Yes, I am more than a little bit obsessed with food.
Tomorrow is...I'm not quite sure but there will be a few miles thrown in.

P.S 3 miles this pm - i *think*
Edit: just finished my 5k and ran it just shy of 19mins - I've never measured 3 milers because they are so short but today I wanted to get it over and done with because it was too hot out. Well whaddaya know - I ran it on dead legs - and just took my watch for the heck of it. I am a badass! Sorry, *had* to share :-)
