Easy

4 very very easy miles this am to get the muscles going and also to make sure I didnt break my small toe. I had a *huge* scare last night when I twisted my right foot and thought I broke my toe. Its just a blister - WHEW!

Its so obvious that big miles are addicting - 4 miles makes me not even go out of breath a little bit. I am going to get jittery as the day wears on. For now - feeling good!

Gold Dust

Ran through Paterson Road in the early am - I started around 5am. Sights and sounds pulled me back down another year - I was here, till 1999, I was here and I held gold dust in my hands...

Very happy with the speed - 12 miles @ 8.10min/mile on average. I am still debating whether to fit in a 20 + within the next few days. I really really dont think I should since I doubt I can gain anything from it at this point - except bragging points :-)

This is possibly my last long-ish distance until Monday. The weekend, I only plan to do a few here and there to keep the legs loose. I am being semi-normal tonight and splurging on a drink - I hope I stay awake!!

Repeat of the Monday Brick

If I could have fit in a swim, this morning would've been perfect!

300 stair sprints 60minutes (skipped 3 stairs at a time)
6.2 miles (10k) 50 minutes - slightly better than couple of days ago, but I still walked half a mile home and ran out of steam the last 10 or so minutes.

The reason I want to get this right is because I want to train my legs to turnover faster when fatigued. This is my first week attempting this workout with this weight. If I cant keep it up then I guess I will have to gain another couple of pounds to see if my body is stronger.

Triple Play!

I need to learn not to push myself as much. This whole lets-cut-mileage- thing is making me feel very angsty.

On the other hand, I feel like a lean mean machine - my body fat is as low as I feel comfortable with. I wish I could run my race tomorrow so I dont have to feel pressure to maintain this lean-ness for another 26 days!

Anyway!
6 miles to loosen up
1 mile broken up into strides - 22 60 meter sprints
100 stair sprints
50 laps in the pool (2 miles)

The temperature according to my watch read 40 degrees in the staircase this morning - and I ended up sprinting 300 laps which took 53 minutes. Needless to say I was dripping with sweat by the end of it. My muscles were nice and warm when I attempted to run a fast 10k after that - I ended up running 5kms before bagging it and walking half of the way back home - too hot!!

I will attempt this again tomorrow - hopefully not walking any of it. Still happy though - it was hard!

300 sprints
6 miles @ 60 minutes (I want to do a 40-42 10k tomorrow - we shall see)
