Left at 3:50 this morning to crank out 7. Ended up doing an easy 9.2 miles (a touch over 15km). It was very humid and hot this morning - so swam about a mile and a half - 30 laps in 28 or so minutes. I ended up running a fast mile after the swim because I felt all fresh again. So here goes:
9 miles @ 1:10 - this was easy, didnt break a sweat.
30 laps in the pool - 28 mins
1 mile @6:05 - this was FAST!
Hoping to do another 4-5 this pm. Drinks tonight - maximum 2.
P.S been doing push-ups (yes, I know - stop laughing) lately - did not think I'd stick with them but have been doing them for all of 3 days - which means it is now routine. I have the upper body of a girl, i.e. minus any sort of definition and very...ummm...soft (actually flabby). Anyway, sorry about going on a tangent as always.
100 Push-ups (10 sets of 10)
This is all in 'celebration' of my upcoming race in May.

Thursday morning uneventful miles
I have been relying on my morning runs more than ever lately. I am not quite sure why that is - it never was this way a year ago.
I headed out at the ungodly hour of 3:30am - I fell asleep somewhere around the midnight mark. Covered an easy 9.3 miles in that time - with stair sprints thrown in for fun.
I am in need of a stiff drink - it has been awhile. For this I must make sure to get enough miles tonight and tomorrow morning - I dont expect to run more than 6 on Saturday.
100 single repeats on the stairs this pm - took 15 minutes.
Friday night I cannot wait!

Wednesday miles
Ran 21.6 miles this am. Took me 2 hours and 50 minutes.
Mentally, this was one of my toughest runs yet. It was hard to stay focused. So much of running is in the mind and I think today was just one of those days when I could not properly focus.
Anyway, atleast its done. I always feel better after a run. I also dont like cutting the run short - now *that* would be cheating!
NO MILES THIS PM. Resting up for tomorrow.

Another meh!
620 double stair repeats - which means about 1200 single ones.
*Rest*
200 single repeats.
I still feel a bit eh! This is the thing about being an athlete - you get out there no matter what. I couldnt feel any eh-er - but I still get out there because I feel worse if I dont.
This took me 140 minutes - 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Whatever! I feel like sh*t!

Meh!
I have avoided posting about my run all day today. I cant not do it though - feel awfully guilty. So here is the truth. I am exhausted. There I said it. I am totally exhausted!!
I have slept just an hour this afternoon (none last night), and have averaged 8 hours in total all week. This combined with the blood donation yesterday - I am completely done! I hate whining. Hate it, hate it! There are no excuses for my poor performance!
Anyway, I managed 200 stair repeats today in the blazing heat. It completely whopped my ass. I was dripping sweat, shivery, dehydrated and dizzy. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I hope to have something better to contribute tomorrow. I will not admit defeat until tomorrow. I must NOT!!
Sorry about the tone of this post!

Sunday morning...
It has been a very productive Sunday. Started the day off with 11.2 easy miles - too easy actually - hardly even broke a sweat.
I headed off to the HSA Blood Bank for the obvious - 600 mls later I found myself in my favorite yum cha restaurant in Chinatown for my Sunday morning ritual. Every Sunday, since I have been 19, yum cha (to drink tea in Chinese), has been a tradition. You know I am a sucker for routine :-)
Planned to check out the streets but I felt really really queasy so was back early.
I have to nix my evening miles too - I dont think I can even stand up.
Oh well! Tomorrow is another day!
