Quitting is never an option. Cutting a run short is never an option either. However, sometimes even my legs fail me. Today threatened to be one of those days.
I dont feel right unless I get atleast 10 miles in. I set out this morning after another sleepless night. It took me 9 miles to truly feel comfortable and feel the mojo - thats just way too long! I called it a day after 10 miles (16kms) - it took me 95 minutes and that was just unacceptable.
I came home, hydrated, showered and sat there staring at the clock. Exactly 30 minutes later, I knew I had to redeem myself. I set out and just ran. An all-out tempo run is something I avoid doing - especially given I ran 10 miles earlier. Anyway, long story short, I was more than pleased with the 4 mile tempo. It took me 24 minutes. Not bad at all!
I am a happy camper this Sunday :-)
